Malte Bonart is a research associate at the Information Retrieval Research Group of the University of Applied Sciences Cologne in the team of Prof. Dr. Philipp Schaer. His research focuses on the influence of web search engines on political opinion formation. He is part of the federal research training group on “digital society” (Graduiertenkolleg Digitale Gesellschaft).
Previously, he was a research assistant at the GESIS department of Computational Social Science where he collected, analyzed and visualized large amounts of textual social media data. Malte Bonart studied Economis and Computer Science at the University of Cologne and the Distance University in Hagen. He specialized in statistics, econometrics, text mining and data visualization.
